How AI Helped Me Save $1000 And Why You Should Learn AI Now
If you're not using AI to make your life easier, you're missing out on a lot of opportunities. Just recently, I almost spent a thousand dollars on a task that I easily completed with the help of AI. I learned this the fun way when my dad asked me a random question: 'Do you know how to design cute animal images?
For some context, my dad owns a medical materials manufacturing company. He recently landed a new contract with a customer who wants to create a special product for kids. The customer requires these products to feature cute, friendly animal designs.
Now, if my dad had asked me to do some basic Photoshop work, maybe sketch a simple image of a dog or cat, I could have figured it out.
But designing original, adorable animals from scratch? I had no idea how to do that. I’d rather hire someone to do it for me.
So I did what any normal person would do. I looked up how much it would cost to hire an illustrator.
It turned out that hiring a graphic designer wasn’t cheap. A professional artist would charge around $1,000 for the entire package, which included multiple design drafts, edits, and commercial usage rights.
On top of that, it would take at least a month to go back and forth on ideas, make revisions, and finalize everything while my dad wanted me to finish the task quickly
To be honest, a thousand dollars isn’t a huge amount, but if I could save it, why wouldn’t I? Who doesn’t want to keep more money in their pocket?
Since I have an IT background, I decided to use ChatGPT to generate the designs for me.
I typed in a simple request: 'Generate a picture of cute, adorable animals playing together in the playground, each one looking very happy.'
Within seconds, ChatGPT delivered. I got a bunch of high-quality, colorful images that were exactly what we needed.
Let’s take a look at the results:

Not bad at all, right?
Of course, the results weren’t perfect right out of the gate. I had to tweak some of them in an image editor to make sure they fit the product dimensions. But the hardest part—the actual creative design—was already done.
So instead of spending a thousand dollars to hire a designer and going back and forth for a month, I got exactly what I needed in minutes—nice and clean.
This was one of those moments where I realized just how powerful AI has become. A year ago, this wouldn’t have even been possible. Now, it’s saving me money and time in ways I never expected.
This is why I believe AI is going to replace a lot of jobs in the future, as I mentioned in my previous post. Not because AI is 'taking over,' but because it makes things so much easier and faster. The people who know how to use it will always have an advantage over those who don’t.
Imagine if there were another competitor to my dad’s company who didn’t know how to use AI to streamline their workflow. They would have to spend $1,000 and an entire month, while that money could have been used for something else, like running ads.
If you haven’t started using AI tools yet, now is the time. They’re not just for the tech industry.
Whether it’s writing, design, automation, or even just brainstorming ideas, AI can help you get things done faster and cheaper—handling the workload of a team of five.
The game is changing super quickly. Make sure you’re not left behind.
